Description:
Spitzer, a recognized industry leader in designing and fabricating high-specification equipment, is currently seeking a Senior Module Estimator to join our team. The Senior Module Estimator reports to the VP of Estimating. This position is responsible for bidding projects pertaining to the fabrication and assembly of process systems and modular systems. The candidate will be responsible for identifying risk, opportunities, and maintaining a strategic position during the estimating phase of the project. Prepare cost estimates to aid management in bidding on or determining price of product or service. This position will support day-to-day Estimating department demands and select projects.

Work Schedule
The Senior Module Estimator will work Monday-Friday 7:30 AM-4:30 PM. Spitzer currently runs two shifts, Monday through Friday with overtime on weekend work as needed. Late afternoon/evening/weekend hours may be required as needed. Work schedules may change to accommodate production needs.

What Does a Week in the Life of the Senior Module Estimator Look Like?
- Analyze bid documentation to prepare time, cost, materials and labor estimates.
- Use a broad range of skills to estimate piping and AWS D1.1 structural steel skids.
- Review and interpret preliminary client/project specifications.
- Review and interpret preliminary models, structural, P&ID, isometric, and orthographic drawings.
- Assess cost effectiveness of projects and services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.
- Consult with clients, vendors and personnel in other departments to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
- Confer with vendors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
- Prepare estimates for use in selecting vendors or subcontractors.
- Prepare cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals for duration of the project.
- Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors.
- Set up cost monitoring and reporting system and procedures.
- Attend pre-award meetings with clients and internal project handoff meetings.
- Understand and follow all safety policies and procedures.
Required Education and Experience:
- Business related college degree or equivalent of five years of experience in similar or related position.
- Must have excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of design, fabrication processes, and codes is required.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with limited supervision is required.
- Proficient with MS Office software is required. (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.)
