Job Summary:

Review customer requirements and derive electrical, mechanical, thermal and performance requirements for battery packs and modules. Lead DFMEA creation at the system level and support the design and manufacturing team. Create System Architecture Diagram, functional models and P-Diagram of battery systems. Provide input into system thermal design, support plant end-of-line development and conduct testing as necessary to confirm system performance.

Responsibilities:
  • Review and summarize customer and internal product requirements
  • Research and develop new test methods and analyze project requirements
  • Review and understand product schematics and drawings
  • Lead the execution and completion of FMEAs and owner of the Systems FMEA
  • Lead and execute the creation of System Architecture Diagram and functional model, P-Diagram
  • Owner of all customer facing and internal requirement documents (e.g. Compliance Matrix)
  • Lead the execution of safety checkouts (SCO) and perform Systems testing at every hardware and software release as necessary
  • Lead CAE, PPAP activities, issue resolution (8Ds, interim containment action, permanent corrective actions, root cause analysis, lessons learned), etc.,
  • Support validation setups & DRBTRs
  • Support warranty (0km & field returns), cost reductions activities, future RFI technical response and support
  • Read DIDs and CAN data from battery packs and modules
  • Perform failure analysis and assist in corrective product actions
  • Provide feedback of lessons learned and continuous improvement opportunities
  • Prepare test result reports and review test reports with customers
  • Review and resolve issues with internal staff, clients, and suppliers on site manufacturing, developmental testing, and contracted testing
  • Support production, advanced projects, customer production planning and field issues
  • Support program applications DREs with analysis


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical/computer/systems engineering required
  • 5+ years automotive design and release, systems engineering, product design, product testing, product launch, and manufacturing experience


Experience:
  • High Voltage Safety Trained preferred
  • Knowledge of Systems V model best practices
  • Knowledge of battery management systems (BMS)
  • Creating System Architecture, P-Diagram, System DFMEA
  • Creating and cascading system requirements
  • Experience with vector tools such as CANalyzer
  • Understanding of Automotive CAN network, DIDs, Control routines


Skills:
  • Knowledge of ASPICE best practices & ISO26262 protocols
  • Knowledge of battery management system
