Operational Support Department
Position Summary
Manage all aspects for the Operational Support department. Responsible for ensuring department duties are handled efficiently and accurately. Ensure that we are in accordance with credit union established policies and procedures and all governmental rules, regulations and laws pertaining to the functions performed in this department.
Provide credit union members (internal and external) with immense member experience through effective coaching and development of Operational Support staff. Ensure policies and procedures are adhered through the normal course of duties. The Operational Support Manager must have dynamic knowledge of all areas in the department as listed below (not all inclusive):

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Performance management with continuous process of measuring, developing performance of employees and team. Maximize productivity of employees through improving their capacity and willingness to perform with providing them all necessary resources and opportunities. Ensure employees performance supports and contributes to the organization's strategic initiatives. Ensure staff is adequately cross-trained for minimal interruption in member service expectations.
- Ensures the department functions are processed efficiently and employees adhere to policies, procedures, and in compliance with Regulations. Ensures each team maintains written processes and procedures to incorporate current mandates and revisions as required through Regulations. Follow-up on internal audit requests as scheduled and monitor throughout year to ensure policies and procedures are updated and adhered to.
- Assist employees by, addressing member concerns, interacting with members (by phone or in written communication) to resolve issues or concerns within his/her authority to resolve. Conduct observations of staff communication with and to coach on improvements as we work toward incorporating One Meriwest. Communicate job expectation to employees and foster a productive working environment.
- Review and analyze the operations of the department for effectiveness and identify consolidation or redistribution of duties as a result of the efficiencies gained from systems.
- Work with immediate Supervisor to establish and implement a business plan that meets the Credit Union's long-term goals. Manager will be involved in budgeting plan for the department. Manager will also work with new vendors and implementing new processes to the department.
- Responsible for supervising and coordinating duties and work functions in the Operational Support department which duties include, but not limited to:
- Check Processing, Mail Processing, Account Maintenance, Deceased Accounts, Certificate Renewals, IRAs, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
- Five years to ten years of similar or related experience.
- Supervisory experience required.
- High School or Equivalent Required; B.A./B.S. degree preferred
- Experience with banking software and debit card programs a plus.
- Certifications in specific areas, such as IRA, Check Collection/Check Return, etc. a plus.
- Professional phone demeanor and attention to detail required.
- Work well independently and with others.
- Ability to balance risk management with customer service in everyday duties.
- A significant level of trust, credibility and diplomacy is required. In-depth dialogues, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors can be of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature. Communications may involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance.
- Detail oriented, excellent organizational, verbal, written, and communication skills.
- Must be PC literate in Word, Excel (or equivalent) and Windows.

- Target Range: $91,370.86 to $114,213.58
