Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a Principal Construction Claims Analyst to join the team in Selma, CA to develop and execute Construction Claims Service strategies and programs.

Must be able to work onsite in Selma, CA.

Role description:

Arcadis provides Project and Construction Management Services to oversee the Design-Build for Construction of the California High-Speed Rail System (System) in California's Central Valley. In this role, you will manage one or more trade contracts, and manage deliverables against contract schedule.

Role accountabilities:
  • Determine change order merit, evaluate, and estimate the level of effort for hours and costs, negotiate with the contractor, and write up Findings of Facts and Records of Negotiation.
  • Draft documents to support the change order dispute resolution process up through and including arbitration.
  • Investigates and drafts finding of fact documents based on the terms and conditions of the contract agreement.
  • Ability to understand the Design-Build delivery method being used, and coordinate responses based on the contract terms and conditions.
  • Ensures maintenance of complete contract files.
  • Makes recommendations to management and client management on contract issues with major schedule and quality impacts.
  • Independently prepare bottom-up and top-down cost estimates from plans/drawings and documents from the conceptual stage to final design/construction documents
  • Review project plans, requirements, and specifications
  • Determine labor and equipment costs
  • Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and materials pricing
  • Discuss and propose the most proper means and method
  • Review and understand all bid documents and assess project risks
  • Understand project logistics and project schedule
  • Analyze sub-consultant and contractor cost/change proposals for reasonableness
  • Independently perform scope, quantity, and/or unit cost reconciliations
  • Assist the project management staff with the management of project scope, budget, and schedule and provide analysis of reports on the project's key performance metrics

Required Qualifications:
  • Must have demonstrated experience in resolution of construction claims.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or in a related field.

Key Skills and Attributes:
  • Knowledge and ability to quickly understand principles of construction and contractor means and methods.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and organizational skills are necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in large, complex construction projects

Arcadis offers benefits for full time and part time positions. We offer nine paid holidays and 20 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $130,000 - $230,000.
