Summary
Baylor College of Medicine is seeking licensed and credentialed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (NP/PA) provides diagnosis, treatment, consultation, and follow-up patient care under the supervision of one physician in the practice of Geriatrics in The Department of Medicine at Harris Health System within the House Calls Program.
The NP/PA will function as a primary care provider maintaining and promoting the health of the patient at times providing routine, urgent or overflow care.
The NP/PA provides age and specialty appropriate medical care at the level of training achieved conforming to the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners (BNE) or the Texas Board of Medical Examiners rules and regulations as well as all federal, state, or local laws, affecting the NP/PA's current area of practice.

Job Duties
- Obtain detailed history and perform physical examinations.
- Perform, order, and interpret diagnostic procedures in accordance with relevant health concerns of the patient.
- Prescribes appropriate pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments.
- Maintain records and write orders and progress notes in patient charts as to status, treatments, and procedures.
- Monitors and ensures accuracy of recording on patient medical records.
- Provide follow-up health maintenance care to patients in accordance with protocols established with the supervising physician.
- Communicate with physicians, patients, and the family members of patients concerning patient care.
- Collaborates with providers, and practice staff in identifying appropriate patients for care management.
- Perform other job related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
For Nurse Practitioner:
- Education Required: Master's degree in Nursing.
- Experience Required: None required.
- Certification/Licenses/Registration: Current license as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the State of Texas Board of Nursing. Current Texas Licensure as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APRN-NP), and specialty certification as required by department. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
For Physician Assistant:
- Education Required: Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies
- Experience Required: None required.
- Certification/Licenses/Registration: Current license as a Physician by the Texas Medical Board. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
