Sr. Infrastructure Engineer
Hybrid - Orlando Florida (within 2 hours driving distance)

UDT provides technical, professional, cyber security and managed services. This is a full-time hybrid position and must be located within 2 hours of Orlando, Florida.

Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of network equipment, servers, and virtualization.
- Install and upgrade components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues.
- Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure.
- Responsible for capacity, storage planning, and database performance.
- Create documentation detailing infrastructure workloads and physical locations.
- Perform server administration tasks, including user/group administration, security permissions, group policies, print services, research event log warnings and errors, and resource monitoring, ensuring system architecture components work together seamlessly.
- Monitor datacenter health using SolarWinds Orion and respond to hardware issues as they arise; help build, test, and maintain new servers as needed.

- Maintain internal infrastructure requirements including switches, firewalls, printers, phones, security updates, support internet, intranet, LANs, WANs, and network segments.
- Cisco IOS Switch Firmware
- Cisco Phones
- FortiGate FortiOS Firewalls
- Meraki Wireless
- Interact with the help desk and other teams to assist in troubleshooting, identify root cause, and provide technical support when needed.
- Perform routine/scheduled audits of the systems, including all backups.
- Veeam Backup and Recovery
- ExaGrid Storage
- Participation in 18/6 on-call rotation.
Skills and Qualifications
- In-depth research, analysis of issues, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with network hardware (Cisco and Meraki)
- Proficiency with shared storage technologies
- Proficiency with Microsoft operating systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft endpoint deployment software (MDT/WDS or SCCM)
- Proficiency with VMWare ESXi, vCenter and Hyper-V
- Understanding of server blade infrastructure
- Experience with or knowledge of PowerShell and operating systems; enterprise backup and recovery procedures, system performance-monitoring, active directory, virtualization, HTTP traffic, content delivery, and caching.
- Experience or understanding of cloud workloads (Specifically Microsoft Azure)
