GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:
The Manager, Corporate Accounting will be responsible for overseeing areas related to the financial reporting requirements for a multi-national, multi-currency consolidation. A principal responsibility will be to ensure the quality and timeliness of financial reporting throughout the organization, including processes and business results analysis.

The Connecticut pay range for this position is from $120,000-130,000. Salary will be based on prior experience related to the skills required for this position.

The Manager, Corporate Accounting will be responsible for overseeing areas related to the financial reporting requirements for a multi-national, multi-currency consolidation. A principal responsibility will be to ensure the quality and timeliness of financial reporting throughout the organization, including processes and business results analysis.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create, post or review journal entries in the SAP and HFM financial systems
- Review general ledger monthly in assigned areas to ensure accuracy of postings and adjust as required
- Reconcile certain general ledger accounts
- Understand and analyze company financial performance as it relates to internal (management) and external (public) monthly and quarterly reporting
- Create financial statements and footnote support for inclusion in public and regulatory filings
- Manage the Company's impairment testing process of indefinite-lived and long-lived assets
- Assist with reporting related to legal entity transactions and reorganizations including divestitures and acquisitions
- Review annual financial statements for statutory reporting of subsidiaries, including reviewing statutory financial data filing reconciling items for appropriateness
- Support system testing and process changes related to ERPs, including go-lives
- Collaborate with IT, Global Business Services and other functions on process change management related to better efficiency and accountability including other financial system integrations with SAP reporting
- Communicate with business unit personnel and other functions on reporting efficiencies, including consistency of use of SAP dimensions and visibility of financial data in HFM as well as key SAP reports
- Redesign month-end close processes to simplify and speed the close
- Oversee process improvement projects, including updates to policies and procedures
- Execute income statement analysis in partnership with Business Planning and Forecasting Department, developing budgets, tracking expenses, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions
- Ensure adherence to Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, internal control procedures, and generally accepted accounting principles
- Work with internal and external auditors on document requests
- Participate in special projects as requested by management

- Strong understanding of US GAAP

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in Accounting, Accounting degree preferred, CPA preferred
- Minimum 7 years accounting experience and familiarity with areas of multi-national financial reporting and multi-currency consolidations, SEC reporting, public company experience a must
- Experience working in a consumer-packaged goods (CPG), fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) and/or consumer durables industry strongly preferred
- A strong background in leading roles developing internal and external working relationships as well as experience with audit firm communications
- Solid understanding of general ledger systems and foreign currency translation
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel is a must
- Prior SAP, Blackline, Hyperion Financial Management experience is a plus
