Description:
Assists the Director of Safety & Security in oversight of the Security and Emergency Management Programs. Works with Director to ensure to ensure a safe and secure work environment on a day -to-day basis as well as during disasters/emergencies. Assist the Director in coordinating activities of the various departments within the organization to ensure compliance with The Joint Commission (TJC) Environment of Care (EC) and Emergency Management (EM) standards, and compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations. Plans, manages and coordinates the operations of the assigned campus Security Department and manages the system -wide operations of Emergency Management. Formulates, writes, and reviews policies and procedures relative to Security and Emergency Management. Co Chairs the Security Sub-Committee and System-Wide Emergency Preparedness Sub- Committee. Maintains the organization's Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) and ensure the EOP is effectively utilized during disasters/emergencies. Ensure that recommendations and lessons-learned from incident critiques and after action reports are incorporated in EOP. Develops/conducts emergency exercises according to regulatory requirements; develops After Action Reports based on exercise findings and associated action plans for identified shortcomings. Attends emergency preparedness and security meetings and conferences. Supports the implementation and on-going education of the Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) throughout the organization, as well as ensuring the organization is in compliance with the National Incident Management System.
Qualifications
Ability to read and communicate effectively in the English language. Experience and knowledge of access control, electronic systems, alarm systems and mass communication software. Basic computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Must possess valid N.J. driver's license, and are able to meet the "underwriting guidelines" set forth by the hospital's automobile insurance carrier. Must hold IAHSS Supervisor Training Certification and Incident Command System Level 100, 200 and 700 within 6 months of hire and 400 and 800 within 2 years of hire. 5 years of progressive responsibility in security/law enforcement/emergency management field, with 2 years in a manager's capacity or 5 years experience in a manager's capacity in a healthcare setting. Bachelor's degree in Law Enforcement, Emergency Management or related field highly prefrerred. Joint Commission experience preferred.
