The Manager Behavioral Health implements clinical supervision utilizing an Evidenced Based Practice. As part of the supervision, the incumbent will promote, educate and enforce full integration of behavioral health and primary care services

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Works with the Director of Behavioral Health, Director of Nursing, Director of Operations, Medical Directors, and Practice Managers to assure the delivery of state of the art clinical care.
- Endorses the organizations guiding principles (respect, passionate advocates, quality care and empower) by developing and sustaining an environment which supports excellence in clinical practice and the care of the clients in all settings.
- Conducts chart audits to ensure that all quality, client-centered services are delivered, and documentation standards are maintained in all medical records for services delivered.
- Promotes leadership and development of clinical staff, via required clinical supervision and group staffing.
- Demonstrates clinical knowledge in the evidenced based practices, as demonstrated in ability to staff cases and review of documentation for fidelity to EBP.
- Review, countersign and approve documentation within 72 hours of submission by staff.
- Continuously foster internal and external customer satisfaction (patients, families, referral sources).
- Continuously improve internal and external relationships (e.g. between the business, other programs, corporate departments, and community/funding liaisons, etc.);
- Managing staff caseloads, per regulatory guidelines
- Assigning from waitlist, per priority population guidelines
- Monitoring staff schedules and productivity
- Demonstrates clear and effective communication with staff. Provides timely feedback and follow-up
- Enforces HR practices for support staff at the unit level including: hiring practices, ensure orientation, performance evaluations, disciplinary practices/coaching, terminations, staff grievances/corrective actions, staff support and achievement recognition; and promotions.
- Ensure compliance with all the clinical aspects of DCF licensure/CARF, specific program requirements and established regulations at the unit level;
- Managing and monitoring staff licensure and training requirements.
- Provides direction to clinicians to ensure that the level of clinical documentation in the EMR accurately reflects the severity, intensity, and complexity of patient care and meets medical necessity.
- Demonstrates advanced clinical documentation expertise for behavioral health programs that align with practice excellence.
- Develops, disseminates, and maintains behavioral health best practice guidelines and addresses issues or concerns raised by leadership or staff.
- Conducts and oversees clinical documentation monitoring and peer review process, to ensure quality, client-centered services are delivered,
- Documentation standards are maintained in all medical records for services delivered.
- Develop any process improvement initiatives or corrective action plans, as needed.
- Identifies opportunities for program improvements and advancements. Collaborates with behavioral health/clinical team and Director to advance those improvements.
- Demonstrate clinical knowledge in evidenced-based practices
- In collaboration with Senior Management, develops program goals and objectives, and implements behavioral health programs to assure they are conducted according to grant performance and reporting requirements.
- Builds and facilitates working relationships throughout the community and with other community agencies.
- Designs, implements, and oversees agency internship program for behavioral health counselors and clinical social workers based on model of integrated behavioral health and primary care.
- Address client grievances in accordance with agency protocol.
- Produces accurate and timely reports as needed for agency and grant requirements.
- Stays current on information about behavioral health, substance abuse, HIV/AIDS, other chronic illness, co-occurring disorders, and treatment modalities, especially as applied in a community health setting
- Prepares patient charts and agency records for site visits and program monitoring activities; is present during site visits; assists monitors in finding materials as needed.
- Attends FoundCare staff and other meetings in the community as assigned.
- Maintains client and family confidentiality as per HIPAA standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

- A Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts (LCSW, LMHC, LMFC) with at least two years of combined management experience in community mental health services or similar programs.
- Demonstrates proficiency and effectiveness in verbal and written communication
- Ability to work collaboratively and professionally with all community partnerships
- Strong organizational skills
- Working knowledge of Excel and Word computer programs
- Must successfully complete all criminal background screens annually
- Must be able to work independently with competent decision making using established criteria and guidelines
- Extensive knowledge of behavioral health.
- Ability to understand and apply concepts related to leadership, program management, effective communication with staff, and professional conduct in the work place in order to successfully achieve stated program goals and outcomes.
- Ability to orally communicate effectively with others with or without the use of an interpreter.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing using the English language with or without the use of auxiliary aids or services.
- Ability to review, understand, and apply concepts presented in training programs, conferences, and/or professional literature.
- Clear understanding that FoundCare provides information on educating individuals on safer sex practices which would include but not limited to, exposure to explicit language, explicit printed material, and descriptions of explicit sexual activities as part of the agency's mission in the prevention and transmission of the HIV disease.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to endure short, intermittent, and/or long periods of sitting and/or standing in performance of job duties.
- Ability to travel to all FoundCare offices and off-site locations and attend meetings, workshops, seminars plus travel to other FoundCare departments and conference rooms.
- Accomplish job duties using various types of equipment/supplies, e.g. pens, pencils, calculators, computer keyboard, telephone, etc.
- Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds over distances of up to 300 feet.
