Eligibility for benefits is determined by the number of hours employees are anticipated to work during the school year (September 1 through August 31). Any employee who is scheduled to work 630 hours or more for SVSD in a school year, including substitute work, is eligible for benefits. Eligibility will be re-established at the start of each school year.

- Paid Holidays: This position is not eligible for paid holidays.
- Paid Time Off: Certificated employees receive 12 sick days and 2 discretionary personal leave days each school year. Sick leave and discretionary personal leave days are based on scheduled hours and position start date.
