- Part of the R&D Rubber/Engineering Team responsible for conducting R&D/Engineering programs for assigned customers, respecting the objectives defined in terms of cost, timeline, quality, and profitability from the design phase up to serial production and modification phases for live products.
- Develop and execute project timelines for APQP projects and ensure successful adherence to the schedule.
- Ensure technical interface with a cross-functional group that includes customers, suppliers, sales, engineering, quality, and manufacturing during the whole program, from the design phase up to serial production and also during the modification phase for serial live products.
- Present technical choices to the customer and explain them, promoting innovative solutions.
- Ensure program management with transverse and functional coordination with dedicated plant teams (engineering, plant designer, quality, purchasing, logistics) and technical center (CAD residents, labs, experts) in order to honor program major steps.
- Elaborate, support, and present the investment case of the program in coordination with sales to required parties.
- Handle program risks (quality, costs, timeline, feasibility), define related action plans, and follow up on their implementation in coordination with the relevant departments.
- Complete program indicators, complete and update the cost follow-up, the program planning, and variance analysis in collaboration with the Key Account Manager.
- Organize and lead program reviews to ensure industrial feasibility, process optimization, and reach of objectives in terms of cost, quality, and deadlines for internal and external customers.
- Communicate with the Sales Department relevant information to allow the optimization of product margin and program cost and "is tracking" these in the internal database.
- Ensure the program key measurables, milestones, and gate reviews are planned, tracked, and recorded using the program management database.
- Constantly look to improve skills and processes in order to maximize efficiencies in roles and programs.
- Be a technical coordinator with potential suppliers (internal/external).
- Perform related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related discipline
Experience:
- 5 years of experience in the job offered or in a process or technical engineering position designing and/or developing rubber hose parts within the automotive industry.
- Experience ideally includes the design and development of rubber hoses used within the automotive industry.
- Must have hands-on experience working with customers in anticipating and solving production quality issues, as well as engineering changes during the production build.
- Experience can be gained concurrently.
