Position Purpose:
Under the general supervision of the Superintendent, the director works with the Arts Academy leadership team to plan, supervise and manage the daily operations of the school and the educational development and achievement of its' students.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide daily direction to the leadership team and faculty.
- Supervise and evaluate the leadership team.
- Develop, with department heads, in-service and professional development for faculty.
- Promotes a school environment that is safe, respectful, accepting and conducive to individual instruction and student learning.
- Conduct leadership team and faculty meetings.
- Organize and/or participate in meetings and committees such as; CREC Principals meetings, CREC Leadership Council and various special committees.
- Meet with parents, students, faculty and Academic Advisor on disciplinary and progress issues.
- Oversee the development, implementation and update of curricula and syllabi.
- Manage the school budget for six departments.
- Orientate and mentor new arts faculty.
- Oversee the admissions process: revise admissions materials, meet with families and conduct tours for prospective students and parents, organize prospective student/parent Open House nights, make recruitment presentations.
- Schedule and coordinate facility usage by the high school program and outside users.
- Work with the Theater manager concerning performances and events in the theater.
- Attend Academy performances/events and CREC events.
- Prepare reports and grants as required and/or needed.
- Monitor and keep current teachers State teaching permits.
- Work with the communications department and the media to recognize the Arts Academy achievements.
- Other duties as required.

- Vision to foster a nationally recognized, pre-professional level, arts education program
- Use standard school equipment and software such as personal computer, printer, fax machine, Powerschool, Munis, Microsoft office suite.

- Title IX investigator.
- Bullying Investigator.
- Stand in for Department Head or Instructor as needed.
