Responsibilities
About the role:
The Accountant III prepares journal entries, performs and assists others with difficult and involved reconciliations, researches and assists others with exceptions, and analyzes trends and costs to validate results. This team member relies on several years of experience and judgment to plan and accomplish a variety of job functions and closing activities. The Accountant III works under very limited supervision and interacts with other departments and/or external parties when the Accountant III feels it is necessary.

The Accountant III works under very limited supervision and interacts with other departments and/or external parties when the Accountant III feels it is necessary.
In this role, you will:
- Perform variance analysis versus prior period income statement and balance sheet
- Prepare debt and variable interest footnote supporting documentation on a quarterly basis
- Perform USGAAP cash flow analysis on a monthly and quarterly basis
- Lead requirements related to documentation and compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley
- Prepare and input complex journal entries to the general ledger
- Prepare reconciliations of assigned general ledger accounts and review reconciliations performed by others as assigned
- Question and investigate unusual / non-routine transactions
- Prepare external and internal audit schedules
Qualifications
What makes you a dream candidate?
- Advanced understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Advanced knowledge of standard accounting concepts, practices and procedures
- Strong background with automated accounting systems
- Proficient with Excel
- Oracle 11i/R12 knowledge preferred
- Strong background understanding chart of accounts and how its structured
- Highly proficient in personal computer skills/technology driven
- Ability to perform analysis on complex transactions
- Very strong organizational skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Experience with a financial reporting tools and data base query tools
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance with a strong Accounting emphasis required
- 7-10 years in public or general accounting and/or financial analysis required
Licenses
- CPA preferred
