Job Description
This position performs moderately complex financial procedures, prepares financial plans, and reports on a periodic or ad hoc basis. This requires and understanding of the business environment and the basic operations of the area being supported.
Perform and apply financial analysis techniques including but not limited to variance analysis, statistical analysis, scenario analysis, financial and cash flow modeling, etc., to projects and decisions as requested by management
Analyze and document complex work processes and promote improvement (quality and efficiency) through root cause analysis and process improvement justification
Provide functional guidance regularly to technicians and less experienced team members
Respond to questions regarding finance and accounting issues by possessing a working knowledge of finance and accounting activities and the transactions that form the basis of financial results
Prepare and present financial information in appropriate format to departmental management
Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines
Other duties as assigned
Basic Job Requirements
Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and four (4) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to eight (8) years if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
Preferred Qualifications
Four (4) years of related finance or equivalent business experience
Experience in an Engineering and Construction environment is beneficial
Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills
Demonstrated basic leadership and decision-making skills
Ability to deliver timely and accurate information
Ability to interact and build rapport with peers and operational management
Demonstrated proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word and other personal computer applications
Demonstrated proficiency in the use of a global enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, such as SAP
Understanding of Fluor's Business Risk Management Framework (BRMF) and other information technology systems is beneficial
Demonstrated leadership in the development and implementation of a tool, template, or work process that is used throughout the financial planning and analysis organization and is accepted as the standard
Experience working with a Business Development Sales Team is beneficial
Experience working with a CRM system, such as Salesforce is beneficial
Cross-functional experience working on projects within the Project Controls or Project Business Services function is beneficial
