OVERVIEW
The Information Technology Coordinator provides leadership in the Delmar School District's (District) information technology systems and policy efforts. Plans, directs, manages, and evaluates all District Information Technology programs, services, and personnel and is responsible for technology integration, technology infrastructure, knowledge asset management, cybersecurity, and customer products and services; provides innovative leadership and management oversight to improve planning, procurement, implementation, operation, support, security, and maintenance of IT systems that support and enhance education and business operations as well as improve cost effectiveness and efficiency; provides strategic vision and tactical direction in areas of planning and standards for information technology and related functions; and works with administration to facilitate institutional change and create a positive organizational culture for IT services that supports the District's goals and objectives.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provides strategic leadership in anticipating and developing appropriate and innovative responses to future needs and challenges regarding the District's information technology programs
  • Provides consultation to district administrators and teachers on planning and implementing curriculum with integrated technology
  • Assists in grant writing, completing needs assessments, preparing evaluative documents, and contributing to district publications
  • Serves as a liaison with other agencies/organizations as requested
  • Develops, coordinates, and manages information support systems, including assessing district's technology needs, implementing program services and monitoring and evaluating service delivery, and security materials and equipment accordingly
  • Provides staff supervision and the direct evaluation of staff in developing and implementing services and programs
  • Attends statewide information technology meetings (ex. TechMacc)
  • Manages assigned technology-related grants, including identifying needs and monitoring grant implementation
  • Determines that technology purchases algin with district technology initiatives and programs
  • Institutes preventative maintenance, repair and safety procedures for District
  • Monitors the progress of District IT projects, identifies any developing problems, and participates in problem resolution
  • Provides systems administration independently e.g., evaluates system performance, troubleshoots network operating systems
  • Conducts tests to assure systems are operating properly
  • Coordinates with multiple vendors to resolve issues
  • Installs, monitors, configures, troubleshoots and maintains, at a base level, network equipment, and telecommunications devices such as hubs, switches, servers, routers, wireless access points, basic cabling, LAN connections and other basic infrastructure components
  • Provides second level support for Help Desk functions. Emphasis is on troubleshooting PC operating systems and investigating hardware/software problems to locate and correct malfunction
  • Manages administration and maintenance of server infrastructure and associated systems
  • Coordinates installation, configuration and support for all district software systems and hardware devices
  • Manages computer refreshes including imaging, data transfer methods and ultimate deployment of devices
  • Oversees technology procurement and inventory management and warranties of all network equipment
  • Determines need for major data network upgrades based upon network performance problems and issues such as traffic capacity, load balancing, new/large scale back up systems, redundancy, and other software/hardware
  • Manage and coordinate E-Rate program and procurement for technology needs
  • Establishes a revolving (5) five-year plan for incremental replacement and update of information technology systems and hardware
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local legislation
  • Supervises IT support staff
  • Performs related duties as required or assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or other related field is required.
  • Ability to perform responsibilities with minimal supervision
  • Ability to proactively problem-solve and compromise with professionalism
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and routing/switching
  • Hands-on experience with Google Workspace / O365 administration
  • Familiarity with network troubleshooting tools and methodologies
  • Familiarity in network security principles
  • Ability to create an organizational culture of client-centered service
  • Ability to manage the fiscal, physical, and/or human resources necessary to carry out the diverse functions and programs of the department
  • Excellent organizational and management skills
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
  • Ability to lift/move equipment up to 50lbs
  • Experience with Cisco Meraki Cloud Management is preferred
  • Experience in a K-12 setting, specifically in technology and information systems, is preferred.

REPORTS TO: Chief Operating Officer

SALARY:
  • 12-month position
  • Salary will be computed in accordance with the experience and education of the individual selected based on state and local salary schedules
