Description:
The Perishable Director will oversee daily Perishable operations and travel between 5 locations in south and east Metro Atlanta. The PD will report to the COO and will have the following duties:
Oversee and lead Perishable operations
Own monthly P&L
Hold management and staff accountable
Visit and inspect stores weekly to ensure operations are consistent
Manage weekly Perishable ad process
Ensure Perishable pricing is correct across the organization
Hold management to weekly gross and labor standards
Produce weekly merchandising plans
Own monthly budgeting process with store managers
Manage Perishable DSD vendors
Lead special projects including store renovations
Develop and train leaders within the organization for advancement
Understand and adapt stores to new trends and the changing retail landscape
Implement plans to increase store sales
Maintain the banner's focus on fresh through Meat, Seafood, Produce, Deli, and Bakery
Handle customer requests, complaints, and other customer matters
Follow all corporate guidelines, policies, changes, and instruction
Maintain a positive working environment that creates a high level of morale among staff
Comply with all local, state, and federal guidelines (USDA, GADPH, WIC, SNAP, etc.)
Skills:
Strong management and organizational skills
Understanding of the Grocery industry
Ability to understand and interpret complex financial reports
Ability to understand ordering, computer functions, sign creation, forecasting, inventory, and email
Strong leadership qualities that help inspire associates to increase job performance
Ability to follow through with tasks and follow-up with store managers
Little Giant Farmer's Market was founded in Riverdale, GA, in 1984 with a focus on fresh produce. The store expanded into a full-service supermarket and has been growing ever since. Little Giant is in the process of being updated with a rebrand, store remodels, new products, and a new pricing structure-to name a few. There are several opportunities for advancement within the company as we grow and expand Little Giant and a new banner: Fresh Take. We are looking for experienced grocery professionals with a positive attitude and a willingness to keep changing the store to stay ahead of industry trends.
