General Hybrid Work Statement:
This opportunity is a hybrid opportunity allowing for flexibility between virtual and in-person work subject to the Authority's telework policy.
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering or a related field. Minimum five (5) years of progressively responsible software development experience using the Cognos Studios, Framework Manager, and other Cognos tools to create reports, metrics, and business-intelligence-related products, including at least one year of responsibility for Cognos system administration functions (e.g., patches, upgrades, migration to production, configuration, maintenance of service level, documentation).
Or, an equivalent combination of post-high school education and minimum nine (9) years of progressively responsible software development experience using the Cognos Studios, Framework Manager, and other Cognos tools to create reports, metrics, and business-intelligence-related products, including at least one year of responsibility for Cognos system administration functions (e.g., patches, upgrades, migration to production, configuration, maintenance of service level, documentation).
Medical Group :

Job Summary/Duties:
This position is a professional and technical role that applies Business Intelligence (BI) principles and technologies to provide performance metrics, analytics, and complex report products across the Authority. The incumbent serves as a business intelligence analyst, developer, and system administrator to perform across the full business intelligence lifecycle and has major responsibility for ensuring the continued progress of WMATA's business intelligence program. Incumbent is expected to perform as a member of WMATA's business intelligence program team, setting priorities according to program guidance while maintaining a strategic perspective to identify new opportunities. The incumbent is expected to develop and maintain excellent relationships with customers, handling issues independently as they arise to make reasonable agreements, convey issues clearly, and avoid misunderstandings.
The incumbent applies expertise in the area of business intelligence to further the objectives of WMATA's BI program. Major responsibilities include but are not necessarily limited to:
Works closely with customers to define requirements.
Utilizes business intelligence technology and related tools to create dashboards, analytic workspaces, and reports in a range of presentation styles to satisfy requirements.
Coordinate closely with database managers and data custodians to determine fit/gap of requirements against available data, assists in defining and applying data quality standards to the consumption of data for business intelligence purposes, and develops data models and repositories to support processing of data for BI products.
Designs, develops and tests programs to select and move data from source databases into other repositories for consumption by BI tools.
Manages the BI server and software environment, ensuring proper administration of security policies and procedures, coordinating with other IT infrastructure services, planning and executing upgrades to the BI software and operating environment, communicating with customers about service events, and responding quickly to resolve problems.
Creates and maintains excellent technical documentation.
Follows industry trends and performs best-practice research to support project goals.
