Title: Manager III, Network Services
Under general supervision, lead the design, implementation, analysis, troubleshooting and maintenance of all WAN/LAN/WLAN/SDWAN devices, network management systems, VPN devices, remote access devices, firewalls, access control lists and utilization reporting systems for the DeKalb County School District's (DCSD).
Essential Functions:
The following duties are representative for this position. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Coordinates and manages all activities associated with maintaining and improving the availability, stability, and reliability of internal and external networks and system infrastructure.
Acts as primary escalation point for network operations issues arising internally or externally.
Educates staff on technical and administrative changes to client environments and service offerings while providing guidance and direction for advanced troubleshooting techniques.
Manage daily operations as well as develop, implement, and drive strong adherence to customer-focused network operations KPIs and SLAs.
Facilitates or participates in meetings with/between users, vendors, outside agencies, and IT staff to determine application requirements based on project priorities, changes, and/or system needs.
Coordinates and works collaboratively with all Division of Information and Instructional Technology departments and vendor-partners to provide excellent network experience for stakeholders.
Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff; processes employee concerns and problems; directs work; provides guidance on policies, procedures and work method; completes employee performance appraisals.
Sets department objectives and goals; organizes department processes and workflow; develops, monitors departmental expenditures; provides an escalation point for service issues.
Understands the position is critical to efficient operation of the district's network infrastructure; requires the employee to carry a district-issued cellular phone, and may require work outside of regularly scheduled hours.
Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or closely related field from a Professional Standards Commission approved accredited college or university is required.
Master's degree in Information Technology or closely related field, preferred.
Minimum of three (3) years leadership/managerial level experience in Information Technology or closely related experience and a minimum of ten (10) years of documented experience supporting technology infrastructure.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, PERMITS:
Certified Wireless Network Professional (CWNP), CompTIA Network+, Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), and/or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) preferred.
