Primary Purpose:
Direct manage and Monitor the District Special Education Compliance with state and federal guidelines. Coordinates and provides training to ensure meeting deadlines and compliance. Completes High Costs reports, TEA Complaints, OCR Complaints, Mediation and Leagal Proceeding. Oversees Evaluation and Related Services team and the 504 and SPED Compliance specialists. Warrant compliance with all state, federal, and local requirements.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Master's degree in educational administration or related field
Texas Principal Certificate preferred
Certified instructional supervisor and appraiser in T-TESS
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to evaluate instructional program and teaching effectiveness for special education students
Knowledge of Admission, Review and Dismissal (ARD) Committee process
Knowledge of federal and state special education law
Ability to communicate with all levels of special needs students and their parents
Ability to implement policy and procedures
Ability to interpret data
Ability to manage budget and personnel
Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
Experience:
Five years Special Education Experience
Three years of leadership experience in the area of Special Education
Three years of campus administration preferred
Salary: AP PG7/225 days
