The Merchandise Planning Manager is responsible for pricing new merchandise and key items, proper flow of new product, meeting objectives, planning show runs to maximize sales including show flow and stories, daily sales maximization, cross-selling and cross-promotion opportunities and item rotation.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Works with the planning leader of their category to design the promotional business on a daily basis - (SPT, HP, OO, TTV line up).
- Guarantees proper inventory levels for assigned concepts by accurate monitoring the flow of merchandise and the balance between new and reorder items.
- Create and execute the airtime vision for key items and future scripts items.
- Maximize sales a given day by reviewing actual sales vs forecast and making recommendation to help drive sales
- Allocates inventory assets to maximize sale goals and ensures execution of key items.
- Responsible for the completion of (actioning) of all shows in accordance with internal deadlines.
- Is accountable for building each item to the highest level through implementation of reorder strategies; specifically, identification of proper reorder levels and strong items.
- Collaborates with the programming team to design airtime strategies for key items.
- In accordance with the planning rules, the sales and product planner will ensure the rotation between item airtime and exposures maximizes sales.
- Applies action found in item in terms of promotional pricing handles and markdowns.
- Creates show and item stories designed to maximize sales.
- Partners with buyers/sales managers/show hosts to execute and deliver on the promise of show positioning.
- Works with buyer to identify show opportunities to maximize sales and airtime.
- Must be wiling to be Planner on Duty during evenings and at least one weekend day per month
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- 4+ years inventory planning experience in merchandise/merchandising/marketing environment preferred.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent business experience required.
- Demonstrated experience in a PC/Windows environment, Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent analytical skills are required, including the ability to recognize patters in data.
- Strong organizational and communication skills required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to change. Given the significant responsibilities of this role, it is essential that this role be filled on a full-time basis only, that the individual in the role be able to travel, including by air, and that the duties of this role be otherwise performed on-site
