Position Overview:
The Grants Specialist will play a pivotal role in supporting the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) Child Nutrition Programs within the Community Food Systems Division (CFSD). This position will be instrumental in furthering the Agency's mission by managing the Farm to School Grant Program. A successful candidate shall have the skills, qualifications, knowledge, and level of experience to independently perform the duties outlined below with minimal supervision and guidance.

Responsibilities:
- Review, Tracking, and Retention of Grantee Reports and Deliverables
- Technical Assistance for Grantees
- Post-Award Activities and Closeout
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access, in order to manage correspondence, reports, and other administrative tasks
- Knowledge of, and experience with, various Webinar platforms, such as WebEx, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree
- Demonstrated relevant employment experience in cooperative agreement or grant management, preferably with federal grant regulations and grant management processes
- Proficiency in English to communicate with FNS staff and grantees
- Ability to understand verbal and written instructions, discuss and clarify instructions, and use proper punctuation and grammar when drafting materials and correspondence
- Consistent demonstration of professionalism, fairness, cooperation, and respect towards co-workers and FNS customers
- Ability to manage multiple competing deadlines and priorities while maintaining organization and attention to detail
- Extensive written and verbal communication skills, including good responsiveness to co-workers and potential/current grantees
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with public health, nutrition, or foodservice grant programs
