Compensation:
  • Annual Salary Range: $84,926.00 - $86,964.80

Position Summary & Responsibilities:

Position Summary:

This position is in Topeka, KS within the Bureau of Road Design with the Kansas Department of Transportation.

Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

This position serves to perform the primary pavement design functions for KDOT. Assign and supervise the work of the subsection involved in the design of rigid and flexible pavements for all federal and state highways within the KDOT jurisdiction. This involves the coordination of data collected by other sections within the Unit and the Departments, and outside agencies. When requested, the same services are provided to other outside agencies such as cities or counties. The Section uses the standard KDOT design procedures as well as design procedures adopted by other organization or agencies such as the Asphalt Institute, the Portland Cement Association and Corps of Engineers. Plan and coordinate investigations to determine the cause of pavement failures, when requested by districts or other headquarters departments. The investigation results in recommendations being made for corrective maintenance or a change in the standard design and/or construction procedures.

Qualifications:

Education
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering with a professional engineering license.
Licensing & Certificate
  • Professional Engineering license recognized by the Kansas Board of Technical Professionals
