Role Overview

Technical Accounting Manager

This role reports to Nexus Circular's Corporate Controller.

Key Responsibilities:

• Research and resolve complex accounting issues and transactions, such as revenue recognition, leases, impairments, and acquisitions
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS, etc.), tax laws, and audit requirements
• Provide technical accounting advice and support to management
• Monitor and update key control narratives, policies and procedures as needed
• Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and other stakeholders
• Support preparation and issuance of audit report(s), and tax returns
• Ensure compliance with corporate governance
• Prepare and review financial reporting and disclosures to external stakeholders.

Minimum Requirements:

• A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Master's degree, preferred
• A minimum of five years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a public accounting firm or a large corporation
• A certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or equivalent

• Detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and practices, such as GAAP, IFRS, and SOX
• Excellent research, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing business needs
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to communicate complex accounting issues clearly and effectively
• Proficient in using accounting software, such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle
