Summary

The Superintendent, Infrastructure is responsible for supervising and providing leadership for a multi-function site service and dewatering departments. They would also oversee the accommodation(camp) and bussing services. Areas of responsibility will include but are not limited to, all site road systems, buildings maintenance, water and sewer systems, waste disposal, fire alarm and suppression systems, snow removal, pit dewatering, well infrastructure maintenance and site dewatering in general.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee site services, dewatering and facilities & logistics supervisor.
  • Comply with environmental guidelines to meet guidance from all levels of government.
  • Manage resources to maintain and enhance critical equipment performance and
  • availability.
  • Provide support with annual budgets.
  • Implement actions to optimize process performance and attain efficiency targets in the
  • areas of labour productivity, equipment utilization, and material consumption.
  • Promote Safety, Health, & Risk awareness at all times and ensure adherence to
  • Company safety standards.
  • Coordinate with other departments to accomplish the work at hand.
  • Establish and maintain sound working relationships with supervisors, peers, and
  • subordinates.
  • Recommend staffing requirements and participate in the hiring process.
  • Evaluate staff performance and provide feedback.
  • Recommend Continuous Improvement Initiatives & oversee implementation of
  • approved initiatives.
  • Support the manager with their task in their absence or as needed.
Education & Experience
  • Completion of a relevant trade certification, engineering Degree/Diploma, or trade certification.
  • 10 + years of relevant experience in the mining industry.
  • Building maintenance experience, preferably in a mining operation.
  • Knowledge of standards as related to buildings, water and sewer and fire alarm and suppression systems.
  • Ability to prove your commitment to Safety, Health, & Risk, and Environment standards.
  • Understanding of water pumping and infrastructure maintenance, including pipelines and roadways.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Working Conditions
  • Work involves a camp-based role at the Mount Milligan Mine site with a set work schedule on a 7x7 work schedule OR 14x14 work scheduled, 12 hours per day
  • Candidates must be able to maintain high levels of performance for extended shifts, up to 12 hours in duration
  • Occasional exposure to hazardous environments with the requirement of wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Mount Milligan is a safety-sensitive environment and promotes a drug & alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a ZERO - TOLERANCE policy, with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs/paraphernalia on site
  • Bus transportation to and from site is provided free of charge from Fort St. James and Mackenzie.
