Description:
The Swift Group is looking for a Network Architect to support a technology-based program supporting a key government customer. This program will deliver engineering services for network infrastructure as well as sophisticated enterprise computing infrastructure including end-point devices, data center hosted servers, multi-Cloud services as well as virtualized applications, and storage systems. Enterprise Computing Engineering services include modern application technology including containerized solutions with orchestrated workflow that function both on customer premise, and via remote Cloud services. Network infrastructure engineering services are comprised of core infrastructure, voice and video engineering, field engineering, application management and development for networks, network analytics, firewalls, network access controls and bandwidth service delivery. The role is located on onsite in Herndon, VA and requires a TS/SCI with Poly clearance.

Required Qualifications:
- 16+ years of relevant experience in infrastructure engineering, with expertise in the following areas:
- Certifications: CCIE Certification & JNCIE Certification
- Optical Engineering Experience
- Deep knowledge of MPLS, TCIP/IP, VPM and IP telephony
- Developing IP/MBLS network architecture
- Developing and executing MPLS VPN Service Standards for global network
- Linux Systems Engineering experience, including: AWS Deployment, Apache/Ngnix, PostgreSQL, Linux, KVM virtualization, Bash and Pearl Scripting
- Red Hat Ansible Automation
- Enterprise Architecture frameworks and principles
- Systems Engineering Lifecycle (SELC) Support
- Cloud experience (AWS, VPC, transit gateway, private link, ELB, ELB, etc.); Azure (connectivity services - Vnet, Virtual WAN, VPN gateway, application protection, application delivery and network monitoring, etc.)
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
- US Citizenship and an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance required
Desired Qualifications:
- Cisco IOS- including switching, routing, segment routing, and other technologies
- Radio frequency and spectrum engineering
- Optical networking technology and engineering
- Satellite communications engineering
- Cloud design, implementation, and configuration
- Other automation tools (e.g. Chef, Puppet, Terraform, etc.)
- Identification of INFOSEC and COMSEC security requirements for the network
- Providing technical guidance and direction for TCP/IP transport network design and engineering, networking routing protocols, advanced virtual networking technologies
- Analyzing the optimization of network system performance
- Overseeing the strategic interface of network systems configuration
- Assessing network engineering technologies, computing systems hardware and software protocols
- Providing high-level technical advice and guidance to manager and technical resources on networking technologies to meet current and future organizational needs

- Establishing overall strategic network standards and priorities

- Knowledge of Security Development Operations (SecDevOps) on iterative development projects
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code
- Knowledge of Agile development principles
- Knowledge of modern software languages (e.g. Java, C, C++, C#, Python, Perl, etc.)
- Knowledge of state-of-the-art systems engineering principles and network design concepts
- Knowledge of OSI model, routing protocols, and their application to router configurations
- Experience in multi-vendor network security environment
- Experience with routing design, techniques, and protocols such as BGP
- In-depth understanding of peering, QoS, and traffic engineering
- Security best practices for firewalls and perimeter security measures including VPN technologies
- Continuous integration, test automation and/or SecDevOps on iterative development projects
