Directs the large broad-based multi-sectioned office responsible for K-12 curriculum, instruction, and assessment, requiring leadership and accountability for several divisionwide initiatives; plans, organizes, supervises, and evaluates all activities, program functions, personnel, and physical and fiscal resources of the office; is responsible and accountable for strategic planning and outcomes.

Qualifications

Required
  • Master's degree.
  • Seven (7) years of progressively more responsible job specific related experience in teaching and/or administration and supervision.
  • Postgraduate educational license with endorsement(s) designated as appropriate to the assignment.
  • Administration and supervision Prek-12 endorsement.
  • Knowledge of the principles, practices, methods, and current trends of school administration.
  • Knowledge of the procedures and practices of the educational specialties in a preK-12 educational environment.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws, codes and regulations related to K-12 curriculum and instruction.
  • Proficiency in the use of technology and data compilation, analysis, and reporting.
  • Ability to manage fiscal, physical, and human resources to successfully carry out the function and programs of the office.
  • Ability to supervise, evaluate, and lead.
  • Ability to facilitate meetings and/or present information to groups, including the School Board.
  • Capacity to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with personnel assigned to schools, other departments, public entities, families, and citizens
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
