YOUR ROLE
The Director of Strategic Business Development is responsible for the development of new business and to grow existing business within Spokane and surrounding geographical markets with a focus on the Sea Logistics business unit. This position will support the establishment of a physical CCL location to expand market share and presence in the community. This position will report to the Seattle Branch Manager.

YOUR ROLE
The Director of Strategic Business Development is responsible for the development of new business and to grow existing business within Spokane and surrounding geographical markets with a focus on the Sea Logistics business unit. This position will support the establishment of a physical CCL location to expand market share and presence in the community. This position will report to the Seattle Branch Manager.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support in the opening and promotion of the Spokane CCL branch to the community, customers and internal KN network and act in the capacity of CCL Manager
- Develop new business in the Spokane and surrounding geographical market with an emphasis on developing new accounts and their Sea Freight.
- In alignment with KAM teams, support in local representation and development of DA accounts to support growth for the new CCL location.
- Investigate what competitors in the local market are doing and decide how to position KN in the local market
- Promote and educate community and surrounding areas on KN products, services, and brand to include social media in collaboration with marketing
- Engage with Chamber of Commerce and local trade associations (Rotary, Maritime, Economic development clubs) on behalf of KN
- Actively monitor market development leveraging internal and external trade resources (Panjiva, Datamyne, Piers, Exim
- Bank Customer Map, Corelog)
- Be on lookout for which markets and customers to target with focus on increasing KN market share
- Bring the voice of the customer into the business, crossing BU & FU borders, enabling a One KN vision and share of wallet focus across customer platforms
- Promote digital engagement with customers across the portfolios in collaboration with internal partners
- Establish and maintain relationships with customers by being involved in any escalations, collecting feedback, tracking customer, and applying process improvements
- Translate customer requirements into tasks, which the CCL can deliver to support exceptional customer experience
- Understand the BUs- activities, products, and customers by leveraging internal networks
- Build relationships with suppliers and vendor while aligning with OCC to negotiate terms, and monitor performance through support and alignment with OCC
- Ensure compliance with regional and national strategic objectives
- Conduct internal and external reviews of customercontracts.
- Ensure that the CCL Location and KN follows the Code of Conduct, Catalogue of Competence, and other relevant guidelines or laws
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES
- Bachelor's Degree
- 5+ years of field sales in sea logistics freight forwarding
- Experience with logistics processes and solutions
