JOB SUMMARY

This position will be Responsible for ensuring quality of care, patient-first focus and adequate patient access in daily operations within Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Speech Therapy services. The incumbent will collaborate with Case Management, Social Work and Post-Acute Care leadership to ensure hospital and medical system goals are addressed from a Therapy perspective.

This position will include clinical and administrative supervision for therapists on team, liaison with key collaborating agencies and with leadership inside the organization, ongoing training, staff development and evaluation for therapists. This is a "working" manager position that reports to the Hospital CEO.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for assisting with all daily operations of the Therapy Department that includes OT, PT and Speech Therapies.
  • In this position, the manager will supervise therapy staff, promote therapy program development, assist in daily operations related to the provision of therapy services, provide clinical direction to therapists, and technicians to plan, evaluate, organize, design and implement treatment.
  • Participates in, and when necessary, collaborates to develop new programs and marketing plans for Therapy Services
  • Develops an individualized plan of care based upon evaluation/reassessment findings according to hospital guidelines.
  • In collaboration with patient and family, develops measurable long term and short term goals.
  • Ensures Joint Commission and regulatory standards are met across all services.
  • Oversee progress of all therapy staff toward meeting documentation expectations and take appropriate action to ensure compliance as necessary.
  • Hire new employees, evaluate performance, manage teams when necessary, facilitating ongoing learning and development.


Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS
  • Master's degree In Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech-language Pathology required.
  • 3+ years' Experience in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech-language Therapy in a hospital setting.
  • 3+ years or more Management experience in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech-language Pathology.
  • Physical Therapist - PT, License in Occupational Therapy or Speech-language Pathology.
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, CPR thru the American Heart Association


EDUCATION
  • Graduate of an accredited Bachelor's or Master's degree program and hold a current license as a physical or occupational therapist or speech-language pathologist.


CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE
  • Physical Therapist - PT, License in Occupational Therapy or Speech-language Pathology
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, CPR thru the American Heart Association


KNOWLEDGE SKILS AND ABILITIES
  • This position requires an individual who is a self-starter and has the ability to manage multiple priorities, work with minimal supervision on projects and activities, and demonstrate tact and diplomacy in situations of conflict and controversy.
  • This individual must be able to adapt quickly to change and coordinate efforts across multiple stakeholders
