Sr. Systems Engineer

The Opportunity: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Systems Engineer with a specialization in Data Security for a client project in Las Vegas, Nevada. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing various IT projects that enhance, stabilize, and scale our client's technology infrastructure while ensuring robust data security.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and objectives.
• Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, timeline, and budget estimates.
• Design and validate innovative and practical solutions that align with business needs and industry best practices.
• Deploy and configure hardware, software, and network components as required for project initiatives.
• Ensure smooth integration of new solutions into the existing IT environment, minimizing disruptions and risks.
• Perform system upgrades, migrations, and expansions while maintaining system integrity.
• Develop and implement data security protocols and procedures to safeguard company data from potential threats.
• Monitor data security systems and networks for any suspicious activity and take prompt action to mitigate any potential risks.
• Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and address any potential weaknesses in the system.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security measures into new and existing systems.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and advancements in data security, and make recommendations for improvement as needed.
• Educate and train employees on data security best practices and policies to ensure compliance and awareness.
• Respond to security incidents in a timely and efficient manner and provide thorough documentation and reporting.
• Conduct research and analysis to identify potential security threats and develop proactive solutions.
• Work closely with external vendors and partners to ensure the security of shared data.
• Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to project implementations.
• Utilize a methodical approach to troubleshoot and resolve system malfunctions, minimizing both downtime and impact.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Proven experience as a Senior Systems Engineer, with a track record of successfully delivering complex IT projects.
• Proficiency in systems administration, network protocols, hardware configuration, and software deployment.
• Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies, cloud platforms, and containerization.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across departments and levels.
• Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), etc., are a plus.
