Position Summary:

DFA IT supports the information technology and project management needs of the UCI Division of Finance and Administration. Our mission is to improve business process efficiency and effectiveness through optimized delivery and use of technology. We provide IT portfolio, project, and product management services while maintaining information security.

Applies advanced technical project management frameworks and methods and campus, medical center or Office of the President objectives to resolve highly complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Determines methods, techniques and evaluation criteria to obtain results. Manages projects of broad and diverse scope, size, impact, budget and / or project team size, with considerable impact to the organization.

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $140,000.00 - $160,000.00 (Annual Salary). The Full Salary Range for the salary grade this position is assigned to is $100,600.00 - $190,800.00 (Annual Salary).

Required:

  • Ten or more years relevant experience with BA/BS in related field or seven or more years relevant experience with MA/MS in related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience in Project Management in an IT environment.
  • Experience managing at least three full life cycle enterprise level projects including ERP implementations.
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
  • Project management professional certification (e.g., PMP)
  • Requires advanced knowledge of project management principles, theories, and concepts.
  • Requires ability to assess campus, medical center or Office of the President needs for information technology products and design services to meet those needs.
  • Working knowledge of technology-related initiatives and an understanding of impact to the organization of such initiatives.
  • Demonstrated capacity to anticipate obstacles and plan for contingencies.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to determine relevance and prioritize tasks.
  • Demonstrated effective writing skills. Demonstrated competency in selecting and implementing project management methods and techniques, including waterfall and agile project management methodologies and techniques.
  • Broad knowledge of technology-related initiatives and an understanding of impact to the organization of such initiatives.
  • Proven leadership ability. Effective problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to put forth persuasive arguments.
  • Effective skill at tracking effort and project progress.
  • Demonstrated highly advanced organization and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated strong conceptual and planning skills to analyze projects of broad and diverse scope.
  • Understands the cost impact of projects, project tracking tools and metrics.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all levels of an organization.
  • Experience leading a team of technology professionals.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate critical information across disciplines.
  • Understands how projects relate to other business strategies and initiatives

Preferred:

  • Professional certification preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of all aspects of computing and communications including hardware infrastructure, networking, software, operations and disaster recovery
