The DarkStar Group is seeking a Cyber Security Project Engineer with a TS/SCI + Poly clearance (applicable to this customer) to join one of our top projects in McLean, VA. Below is an overview of the project, as well as information on our company, our benefits, and our $25,000 referral program.

THE PROGRAM

The Sponsor is responsible for all-source collection solutions and collection requirements management on behalf of the entire Sponsor's enterprise. The Contractor will assist the Sponsor with developing an analytic software tool, solutions transfer and integration of emerging technologies to meet mission need by facilitating Sponsor information technology (IT) needs, enhancing and optimizing Sponsor IT infrastructure, and troubleshooting technologies during validation processes.

The Role
  • Provide IT security engineering, integration services, and solutions including malicious code detection, intrusion detection, and cybersecurity tool development and integration.
  • Navigate the Sponsor's security accreditation process and ensure the Sponsor's systems successfully meet all security controls and gates to obtain a continued authority to operate (ATO).
  • Ensure all technology pilots are evaluated and reviewed to obtain proper Information System Security Manager (ISSM) approval.
  • Investigate virus or malware alerts and incidents to determine root cause, entry point of code, damage risk, and immediately report this information to the Sponsor.
  • Write reports for the Sponsor on the detailed technical analysis results of reverse engineering tasks, and provide recommendations for mitigating the issue(s) in the future.
  • With Sponsor's oversight, analyze systems, including forensically, for malware, misuse, and unauthorized authority.

Required Skills
  • Demonstrated experience with cybersecurity principals for Linux, Windows, and virtual platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience with Sponsor's current A&A system or its predecessors.
  • Demonstrated experience in all steps of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process.
  • Demonstrated experience creating system and application security test plans.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing Body of Evidence and security reviews for security accreditations, and analyzing security test results and suggesting mitigation plans for identified risks.
  • Demonstrated experience applying security risk assessment methodology to engineering activities.

Desired Skills (Optional)
  • Demonstrated experience submitting systems for security scans and inspections.
  • Demonstrated experience with public and private information security groups and organizations.
  • Demonstrated experience communicating vulnerability results and risk posture to team members and management.
  • Demonstrated experience with information security policies and guidance, as well as assisting in researching, evaluating, and developing relevant security policies and guidance.
  • Demonstrated experience performing complex technical tasks in pursuit of overall goals with minimal direction.
  • Certification: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
