Job Description: Tax Compliance Manager
We seek to have actively engaged individuals with an ownership mentality to be a part of our team
and accelerate our strategic trajectory.
Responsibilities and expectations for this role include:
Manages the tax compliance function, focusing primarily on tax returns and
notices
Subject matter expert and firm wide resource for tax knowledge
Coach and mentor members of the tax department
Prepare and review tax returns and projections
Develop and continually improve tax compliance processes
Responsible for training staff and interns on tax return preparation process
Manage due dates and client expectations for tax compliance services
Capable of trouble shooting compliance and planning issues to proactively manage issues
with the IRS and state tax agencies
Key traits we are seeking for in our next team member:
Willingness to learn - Our industry changes on a regular basis and a healthy appetite for
knowledge is necessary to be successful.
Ability to interact with clients - We have a very strong, dynamic relationship with our clients
and all of our staff are expected to be able to interact with clients on a level beyond just
answering technical questions.
Flexibility - Random things happen in a small office and all staff are expected to help in
whatever way is needed to take care of clients.
Willingness to speak up when something isn't working
Attention to and awareness of details
Professionalism - Clock-punchers need not apply; we do what it takes to get the job done.
Involvement in a community or professional organization will be expected
We'd love to see a candidate with:
An active CPA or EA license
Experience with cloud based tax and accounting software, ideally QuickBooks and UltraTax
8-10 years in a tax practice or financial services firm
Our compensation package includes a base salary (commensurate with experience), profit sharing,
retirement plan, health/dental/vision insurance and continuing education.
Salary range 110-150
