Continued rapid growth fueled by our focus on delivering disciplined growth to build a bigger, more capable, more productive, and more responsible business has created the opportunity to invest in a key strategic leadership position of a Finance Manager - Emerging Brands & Private Label ("Finance Manager"). Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, this newest addition to our Riverside finance team will lead our efforts to scale up our emerging business units efficiently and effectively by providing business insights, strategic financial acumen and forward thinking to help build a better business.
Position Summary:
The role acts as a key partner to the Pet, Private Label and Emerging business units, providing strategic financial acumen and forward thinking to help build a better business and to strengthen capabilities. The incumbent will assist the senior management team members of each business unit to identify options and make recommendations for improving the operational efficiency and financial health of their respective businesses. Accounting and process competency, insight, drive, and vision are key attributes for the successful candidate in this role.
The role will evaluate, implement and continuously develop business processes that ensure the long-term stability and scalability for each business unit, to enable the organization to work efficiently in an engaging and integrated environment.

Primary Responsibilities:
Emerging Brands & Private Label
- Oversee external reporting of the financial statements to key stakeholders
- Review monthly results and implement monthly variance reporting of actual vs. budget forecast. And prior period;
- Manage the month-end process, including setting up workflows and approval flows;
- Establish guidelines, templates, and controls for the preparation of the AOP;
- Partner with the VP of Finance to establish KPI's and benchmarks across each business unit;
- Oversee and manage a monthly and quarterly forecasting process, including variance analysis and insights;
- Support process to analyze volume and margins for changes including but not limited to: packs, customers, categories, etc.;
- Maintain item costing and price lists for all products;
- Partner with the Commercial Sales team to understand the sales planning process, business targets by market, key customers and reporting requirements;
- Act as the lead business partner for the S&OP process;
- Become familiar and efficient with the Company's BI tools ~ Tableau, SAC-BI, Analysis for Office;
- Design, train and enforce customer/product master data hierarchies;
- Develop, monitor, report and influence marketing forecast/actuals vs. AOP;
- Month-end support for tracking marketing PO's and projects;
- Review/approve the financial governance on innovation launches;
RNF Pet
- Oversee external reporting of the financial statements to key stakeholders;
- Manage and maintain the balance sheet and cash flow forecasting, including responsibility for integrating working capital assumptions, capex and debt continuity schedules;
- Manage all bank reporting requirements, including covenant calculations;
- Review monthly results and implement monthly variance reporting of actual vs. budget forecast. and prior period;
- Manage the month-end process, including setting up workflows and approval flows
- Bring finance and accounting support to the functional areas of the business: Procurement, Logistics, Marketing, Sales, Customer Services, etc.
- Develop working capital strategies to improve our cash conversion cycle
- Manage the process for the acquisition of capital assets and ensure that assets are properly recorded, amortized, and disposed of as appropriate
- Negotiate and manage the employee insurance and benefits plans
- Monitor risk management policies and procedures to ensure that program and organizational risks are minimized
- Together with the VP, Finance (RNF Ltd), negotiate with the Bank for lines of credit or other financial services as required and appropriate
- Oversee and develop effective currency hedging strategies
- Oversee the management of all leases, contracts, and other financial commitments
- Responsible for all government assistance funding and tax programs, including the SR&ED annual claim submissions
- Participation in leadership training programs (i.e. Riverside U)
- Partner with subject matter experts, as required

Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive finance roles working as an analytical though
partner with cross-functional teams at a FMCG;
- Extensive experience working with SAP;
- Prior experience as a Finance Manager ideal but not required
- Experience in both large established companies and smaller start-ups ideal but not
required;
Education
- Certified accounting designation (CPA);
- MBA an asset;
