The Data Intelligence Group (DIG) handles all things Data. We are responsible for sourcing, onboarding, evaluating, and engineering data solutions that help our PM teams monetize ideas and drive returns for our investors.

Role Overview

Working within a global team of data analysts, data scientists, and content experts within each of BAM's key geographic locations you will serve as a steward and Product Manager for our client's internal and external data products. Key responsibilities include:
  • Partner with the firm's Portfolio Management, Data Science, and Technology teams to uncover new data driven initiatives and define product roadmaps.
  • Build meaningful relationships with our users to gather requirements and identify opportunities to build high impact products that solve our users' largest challenges.
  • Work in a cross-functional team to identify business opportunities, drive product initiatives, and construct roadmaps that cater to the goals of the broader organization.
  • Manage our suite of products and prioritize the simultaneous development of large, strategic initiatives alongside tactical projects and product enhancements.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) in BAM's data products and evangelize our solutions to our internal clients.
  • Define success criteria and product acceptance for products under your purview.
  • Answer incoming questions about our products and their capabilities.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to evolve product designs and clarify requirements.
  • Create and maintain proper product documentation.


Qualifications & Requirements
  • 5 years of product management experience developing data products with experience across data infrastructure, data science, and/or analytics.
  • Understanding of time-series data, third party data vendors, and how they apply to quant and fundamental analysis. Prior experience with quantitative investors (either as a quant or vendor) is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated track record of ownership, leadership, high achievement and raising the standard of those around you.
  • Ability to understand the technical implementation trade-offs to ensure that requirements are not misunderstood or being ignored by a given implementation plan.
  • Strong SQL skills as well as experience with big data and/or complex data sets.
  • Hands-on programming experience with Python (e.g., Jupyter, Pandas, NumPy).
  • Experience working in an agile environment and with development teams. We expect you and your solutions to be organized and pragmatic.


Bonus Points For
  • Familiarity with core and alternative datasets commonly integrated into front office workflows.
