ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS SYSTEMS
FOUR DAY WORK WEEK!

JOB GOAL
Responsible for assisting systems management and integration among the business, human resources, financial, student, technology, and transportation functions. This position will work closely with administrators in all departments to create systems (if necessary), and document procedures for administrative use with an emphasis on personnel and payroll matters. QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related fields and five years increasingly responsible experience in manager/assistant director/director level position; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the position
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate with others of varying technical abilitiesat all levels
  • Be a systems thinker
  • Ability to act individually and as a team member in resolving problems and completing projects on timeand within budget
  • Possession of good customer service skills with a positive and helpful attitude
  • Any combination of education and experience relative to the above qualifications as the Governing Board may find appropriate.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assists with keeping current with changes in accounting practices and policies and ensure that accounting procedures within the District meet ALL federal, state, local, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assists with the overall planning, preparation, monitoring and administering the District annual Operating Budget and the 5 Year Capital Budget.
  • Ensures that the District payroll and human resources systems meets all federal, state and local requirements.
  • Responsible for the purchase, warehouse, inventory of District assets including supplies, materials andfixed assets.
  • Coordinates and manages external audits; performs a variety of internal fiscal audits, and implementscorrective measures to address audit issues.
  • Directs, trains, supervises, and evaluates the performance of purchasing, payroll, material center (warehouse) personnel and assists them in meeting their career goals.
  • Assists with the development of training systems and conducts employee and management training toensure adoption of business best practices and exemplary business operations.
  • Works in collaboration with staff to create processes/procedures for Employee Personnel Action Requests (ePars).
  • Creates sustainable, compliant processes and procedures and documents those processes and procedures to ensure consistency across the District.
  • Attends some Governing Board meetings, Bond Committee meetings, Cartwright Association Team meetings,and other meetings as requested.
  • Performs such other duties as assigned by the Director of Business Services and Chief Financial Officer.
