About the Team

Located at the Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence in Redbank, this role will support our Rheinmetall Electronics Global Business Unit. You will support Configuration Management across a number of exciting projects. This is a rare chance to join a collaborative team of engineers and technical specialists.

About the Role

Partner with stakeholders to ensure the maintenance and accuracy of configuration information and to provide management and performance reporting.

As the Configuration Controller, you can anticipate some of your day-to-day tasks to include:
  • Providing input to Configuration Management Plans (CMP);
  • Managing implementation of Configuration Management baseline and changes to RDA-IES components under the Land 400 Phase 2 Project;
  • Planning and executing CM throughout the project lifecycle, including product development;
  • Establishing, maintaining, monitoring and reporting contractually required or internally directed baselines (e.g. functional, allocated, and product baselines) with appropriate Engineering documentation and Standards;
  • Conduct of Configuration Control Boards (CCBs);
  • Ensure data quality, compliance and consistency of data across business systems;
  • Performing other duties as required by the Technical Manager RDA-IES;
  • Recommendations to procurement for provision of technical items;
  • Provision of Data to ILS as required for the creation of Nato Stock Numbers;
  • Assessment of Technical Data as produced by the Design Authority;
  • Technical assessment of parts including breakdown spares to ES ILS;
  • Management of master data including cataloguing and codification activity to ensure MILIS data is current and accurate, and
  • Inspections of materials as required to ensure compliance.

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes:
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Extensive experience (2+ years) in Configuration management and Change management;
  • Skill in dealing with parts lists and drawings;
  • Strong all round IT skills including Microsoft Office Suite to (advanced);
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Experience in Defence contract configuration management; and
  • Ability to travel interstate and internationally.
  • Must hold or be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (must hold Australian Citizenship).
