QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Valid Board Certified Behavior Analyst's certificate (BCBA).

2. A valid New Jersey teacher certificate, Educational Services certificate.

3. Such other qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.

REPORTS TO:

Director of Pupil Personnel Services

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:

Facilitate student attainment of social and emotional growth to support the district's instructional program.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Ten-month position.

EVALUATION:

Evaluated annually in writing by the Director of Pupil Personnel Services

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develops and implements appropriate behavior management programs relative to students who are experiencing social and emotional difficulties.
  • Serves as a consultant to school personnel, parents, and representatives of community services or agencies, as necessary, on student behavioral issues.
  • Provides training to targeted staff on various topics, such as data collection methods, behavior management strategies, etc.
  • Develops and implements home programs and related goals, as needed.
  • Maintains written reports and records on interventions in accordance with department procedures.
  • Participates in staffing, annual reviews, parent/teacher conferences and makes parent/teacher contacts as necessary.
  • Communicates with case managers regarding the children's programming and progress.
  • Contributes to progress reports and collects data for Individualized Education Plans.
  • Schedules assigned case load.
  • Adheres to the rules of confidentiality and code of ethics as required of all school personnel.
  • Establishes effective working relationships with coworkers and administrative staff; demonstrates and maintains positive interpersonal relations.
  • Possesses thorough and current knowledge within his/her field and accepts responsibility for maintaining and improving personal professional competence.
  • Assists in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations and board of education policies.
  • Performs any additional duties within the scope of his/her employment and certification and that are assigned by the Superintendent of Schools or designee.
