We are looking for team members to help co-create and implement dynamic channel growth, as we devise new ways to inspire these partners and share the incredible impact of their generosity.

Job Purpose

The Mid-Level Fundraising Senior Manager serves an important leadership role within American Bible Society's Ministry Advancement Division. S/he stewards the mid-level fundraising channel and is the lead of a team responsible for 3,000+ donors who give between $1-10k per year. The successful candidate will develop new strategies for cultivating this important segment of our file. They will collaborate across the department and across the mass and philanthropy channels in particular. They will augment existing tactics and develop new approaches to retain, increase the giving from, and, in collaboration with prospect development, move these partners up to major and gift planning.

This position reports to the Chief Development Officer, supervises the Mid-Level Fundraising team, and needs to deliver on team annual revenue goals that fuel our mission.

Essential Responsibilities

As the leader of our mid-level team, you will provide donor delight to a shared caseload of over 3,000 partners giving between $1,000 - $10,000 per year through:
  • Design and implement new strategic approaches to the mid-level fundraising channel that begin with donor delight and build on the competencies of Relationship Marketing
  • Employ a Pillar focused offer strategy that streamlines midlevel fundraising and is inclusive of various ministry constituency needs; creating a machine that leads to effective pipeline development
  • Carry primary responsibility for achieving team leading indicators to meet the team's overall annual revenue goals
  • Develop and implement integrated KPIs and scorecards that will enable effective program management and reporting
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the team. Ensure accountability through individual meetings and performance reviews as needed
  • Become an expert in telling ABS' story, understanding programming, and articulating the case for support
  • Engaging one-on-one with donors daily to drive impactful connections resulting in more generous relationships.
  • Contribute to mid-level donor communication strategies like emails, newsletters, welcome series and more.
  • Design and implement a system to acquire new mid-level donors from our relationship marketing donor file
  • Design and implement a stewardship plan that will guide mid-level donors to deeper levels of funding and engagement with ABS
  • Collaborate with prospect development and research to identify and cultivate mid-level partners to higher levels of relational fundraising and growing the major donor base.
  • In-person and virtual meeting participation with the mid-level team, the Ministry Advancement division, and ABS staff community
  • Sprint Team participation for things like disaster response campaigns, donor events and other special projects
  • The nature of nonprofit work is being prepared for the unexpected and remaining agile to leverage opportunities for mission impact.

  • Extremely organized and detail oriented

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree; Masters preferred
  • 7+ years of related experience, including 3+ years sales/relationship development or donor-centered fundraising preferred
  • Experience with constituent communication and/or email marketing
  • Experience maintaining records, working in a customer/donor database to track activity, and interpreting data to understand and prioritize caseload (Blackbaud CRM or Salesforce experience a plus)
  • Basic business technology proficiency, including Microsoft Office 365 (experience integrating AI tools into fundraising a plus)
  • Some occasional national travel required
