SPECIAL EDUCATION ADMINISTRATOR
The Penfield Central School District is in search of a dynamic leader that will promote success for all students and provide inspirational leadership and advocacy in special education among all staff and the community.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- New York State certification (SDA/SDL).
- Successful public school teaching experience.
- Thorough knowledge of sound teaching and learning practices.
- Administrative and/or Leadership experience preferred in special education.
- Thorough knowledge and experience with IEP development.
- Knowledge of Federal & State laws, rules, regulations & mandates, IEP's and related & support services.
- Experience in coaching, collaboration, teacher development and professional learning.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establishes and implements all district procedures in compliance with laws and
- regulations relating to IDEA and OCR/Section 504, and oversees all programs, services, and curriculum for students classified under IDEA and Section 504.
- Gathers & disseminates essential information to special education teachers, teacher leaders, and administrators.
- Collaborate with teacher leaders and colleagues to plan & facilitate department meetings, as well as professional learning opportunities.
- Supports District mission by identifying, articulating, and planning to meet needs of students and staff.
- Represents the schools and the District in a professional manner through each interaction with parents, community, staff and students.
