The Bloomfield Public Schools is seeking an outstanding educator with strong academic credentials, and demonstrated leadership abilities, for the position of Principal at Global Experience Magnet School (GEMS) with an effective start date of July 1, 2024.
The GEMS School Principal is the instructional leader and chief administrative officer of the school. The principal adheres to all policies of the Board of Education; coordinates curriculum and instruction between the grades; supervises and evaluates personnel in accordance with bargaining unit contracts; ensures the safety and health of students and staff; works to support the district's and school's mission, goals, the Portrait of a Graduate, and develops procedures to monitor those goals; prepares and monitors a school budget; promotes a vision of learning that is shared and supported by teachers and parents.
Qualifications Include:
Strong curriculum background
Candidates must hold or be eligible for Connecticut certification as an intermediate administrator (092).

- Outstanding communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Broad knowledge of 6 - 12 grade school experiences
- Minimum of five years teaching experience
- Grades 6 - 12 school teaching and administrative experience preferred
