Frequently sitting, walking and/or remaining in a stationary position for long periods of time. The work of this class is generally performed in a school environment. Work may require the ability to move around the school office, classrooms, gymnasium, auditorium, and recreational areas.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Develop and implement a strategic vision for student services that aligns with the district's overall mission and goals.
- Supervise and evaluate the performance of staff within the Student Services Department, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, inclusivity, and continuous improvement among student services staff.
- Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs and services that support the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs of students.
- Ensure the provision of services for counseling, psychological services, health services, and social work.
- Coordinate intervention strategies and programs for students at risk of academic failure, absenteeism, and behavioral issues.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to student services, Section 504, and other relevant laws.
- Develop, implement, and review district policies and procedures related to student services, ensuring they are up-to-date and effectively communicated.
- Collaborate with school principals, teachers, and other administrators to identify and address the needs of students and develop effective support plans.
- Serve as a liaison between the district and community agencies, parents, and other stakeholders to coordinate resources and support for students.
- Communicate regularly with the superintendent, school board, and the community about student services programs, initiatives, and outcomes.
- Collect and analyze data related to student services programs to assess their effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
- Prepare and present reports to the superintendent, school board, and other stakeholders on the performance and impact of student services initiatives.
- Develop and manage the budget for the Student Services Department, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to meet the needs of students.
- Seek and manage grants and other funding opportunities to support student services programs and initiatives.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Below are the qualifications for this position:
- Master's degree in Education, Educational Administration, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field (Doctorate preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in student services, special education, counseling, or a related area, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Extensive knowledge of student support services, special education laws and regulations, and best practices in student services.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a diverse team.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience with data analysis and program evaluation.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
