The Leidos Digital Modernization Group has exciting career opportunities waiting for you as we are continuously seeking Senior Cisco Engineers in support of the Air Force National Capital Region IT Services program. Join the Leidos AFNCR IT Services program and support the 844th Communications Group at three locations: Joint Base Anacostia Bolling (JBAB), Joint Base Andrews (JBA), and The Pentagon.
You will be tasked with supporting the Air Force District of Washington (AFDW) and Headquarters Air Force (HAF) customers on NIPRNet and SIPRNet domains.

As one of the Senior Cisco Engineer team members, you will:
Primary Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Engineers to identify, assess, and present solution options for meeting the functional and technical requirements, which may include hardware and/or software.
- Develops documentation for System Installation Plans and System Administration Guides.
- Provide transparent and regular status updates in requested format to internal and external stakeholders.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot routers and switches
- Document and enforce hardware standards.
- Manage and maintain IP addressing schema.
- Performs security hardening, patching and server certificate updates.
- Perform other tasks as directed by Lead Engineers or Project Manager.
Education and Experience:
- Requires Masters with 15+ years of prior relevant experience or Doctorate with 13+ years of prior relevant experience, additionaly years of experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree.
- Experience with Cisco switches, routers and Cisco management software (DNAC, ISE, UCS, CUCM).
- Help translate networking and communications rated business requirements into secure telecommunications (e.g., LAN, MAN, WAN, Voice and Video) solutions.
- Provide expert knowledge of networking infrastructure, including routing, switching, gateways, VPNs, and MPLS networking including Type 1 cryptographic equipment.
- Evaluate new network technologies (SDN, SD-WAN, etc.) and make recommendations to project managers and operations staff regarding integration and sustainment.
- Experience with engineering and design support for tactical communication systems.
- Currently possess an active Secret security clearance.
- Ability to work independently, and work effectively in a collaborative team environment while keeping the team informed.
- Excellent customer facing skills.
- Excellent researching, decision-making and organizational skills are required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Visio.
Required Certifications:
- Must possess an active DoD 8570, IAT Level II Certification.
- Cisco CCNP and/or CCIE.
- VMWare VCP datacenter.
Desired Skills and Certifications:
- VMWare NSX suite.
- protocols: BGP, OSPF, VRF, VXLAN, VLANs, TCP/IP, IPSEC, spanning tree, 802.1x.
