Director of Youth Programs

Eden Prairie Schools is seeking a Director of Youth Programs!
This position will support the mission of Eden Prairie Schools and will provide the vision and direct supervision of all out of school time programs for youth including but not limited to: Eagle Zone School Age Care Program, EPIC/Targeted Services programs, and youth development/youth service programs in Eden Prairie. This person will work in cooperation and collaboration with the Community Education leadership team, district building principals, and the offices of Student Services and Personalized Learning. This person will directly supervise various supervisor positions who will propose and facilitate youth programs and services that meet the needs of families, students and school communities within Eden Prairie.

POSITION: Director of Youth Programs

LOCATION:
Community Education Building

RATE OF PAY:

AST Level K: $106,022 - $111,022 (depending on experience and education level)

HOURS PER WEEL:
40* (Hours will be flexible to meet program needs.)
Days/Year: 260 days

REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Certification:
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Master's preferred in Educational Administration or related field
  • Community Education Administrative Licensure or willing to obtain
  • A minimum of 5 years of administrative experience.
Experience:
Leadership experience in Community Education and proven competencies in supervision, evaluation, fiscal management and youth programs required.

  • Knowledge of program mission, philosophy, guidelines and expectations
  • Provide daily oversight and direction to all youth programs
  • Ability to communicate effectively, using clear and concise language in oral and written forms. Ability to read, interpret and present written information. The ability to promote orally and in written form materials and information regarding all program components.
  • Knowledge and experience working in a collaborative environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work in a cordial and polite manner in difficult or stressful situations with families, staff, EC-12 professionals, volunteers and others
  • Knowledge of and ability to use technology and programs commensurate with position responsibilities.
  • Knowledge and experience with staff supervision, operations, and organizational strategies
  • Stamina to perform in stressful situations that require attention to many areas at the same time; availability to take calls evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to work independently and to anticipate, assess and adapt to change through innovation and continuous quality improvement
  • Ability to develop an effective staff team, motivate staff and delegate work appropriate to the interests and capabilities of staff
  • Experience in School Age Care Programs including knowledge of MAAP accreditation, youth programming and enrichment instructional strategies
