Qualifications:
Master's degree with a major in educational administration/curriculum and instruction
Hold an Indiana principal license
Successful teaching and administrative experience
A role model with integrity, self-confidence and optimism
An instructional leader who has a vision for students, staff and school
Has familiarity with instructional and administrative uses of technology
Has Knowledge of special education and AP programs
A skilled communicator who speaks and writes effectively, listens well, and responds in ways that enhance openness
and credibility
A strong executive leader with the ability to delegate effectively and support others in ways that lead to high levels of
performance
Strong advocate for parental involvement in schools
An individual with a demonstrated ability to respect, motivate and develop staff
A leader with a high level of energy, a sense of humor, and a genuine interest in the goal of
personal and professional development
A leader who will implement school improvement plans as directed by AdvancED/NCA district accreditation

- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Principal...
1) Shall be responsible for the administration and supervision of Centerville Senior High School in accordance with all provisions of the corporation policy manual of the Centerville-Abington School Corporation, State Board of Education, and State Statute;
2) Shall be responsible for all duties and responsibilities delegated to any member of the Senior High administrative and teaching staff;
3) Shall provide strong instructional leadership in the development, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of a balanced educational program, including all support services and co-curricular activities;
4) Shall assume responsibility for establishing a positive school-wide climate that promotes effective learning and nurtures student and staff self-esteem;
5) Shall provide leadership in defining the purpose/direction of the school and developing appropriate strategic plans to support the school's purpose;
6) Shall provide appropriate professional development programs at the building level, including orientation of new staff members;
7) Shall work with appropriate district administrators in the recruitment, selection, and assignment of personnel.
8) Shall assume overall responsibility for the supervision and evaluation of the performance of all school personnel.
9) Shall assume responsibility for the formulation, implementation, and evaluation of school procedures, rules, and regulations;
10) Shall assume ultimate responsibility for student discipline;
11) Will foster a climate of positive school-community relations, provide information to the community about school programs, and be involves in the community and its resources in the educational program;
12) Shall be held ultimately responsible in all matters pertaining to interscholastic athletic activities;
13) Shall attend all home boys basketball and football games; all boys and girls basketball games at the Wayne County Tourney in which we play; all girls and boys basketball games and football games at the sectionals in which we play. Will help attend post-season athletic teams in coordination with the athletic director and assistant principal.
14) Shall attend school plays, band and choir concerts.
15) Shall attend academic competition meets either hosted at our school, or at the conference and sectional meet. Will attend the academic competition at the state level if we have a team participating.
