Description:
Christie Clinic's Department of Radiology is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant or Registered Radiologist Assistant(Sign-On Bonus Available) at the Main Clinic, from 8am - 5pm. Duties include performing radiological procedures, evaluating medical images and preliminary notes with the supervising physician, and participating in the management and care of patients. A Bachelor's Degree in a health care related field and Certification from The Board of Radiology Practitioners Assistants and/or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (RRA) are required, a master's degree is preferred.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Demands include sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, stretching and lifting up to 75 pounds. Hearing within, or correctable to, normal range, vision correctable to 20/20 and manual dexterity for the operation of office equipment is required.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed in a clinical setting and requires frequent exposure to sharp objects, communicable diseases, bodily fluids, toxic substances and other conditions common to a clinic environment. Requirements may include working irregular hours.

Responsibilities:
- The RPA/RRA will evaluate the day's schedule of procedures with the supervising physician and determine where his/her skills will be best utilized.
- The RPA/RRA, after demonstrating competency and under the guidance, supervision and discretion of the supervising physician, will perform procedures including, but not limited to the following:
- Fluoroscopic procedures (static and dynamic)
- Ultrasound, Computed Tomography, Fluoroscopic, Stereotactic, or Fine needle guided biopsies
- Ultrasound, Computed Tomography or Fluoroscopic drainages and drainage catheter placements
- Arthrograms
- Lumbar Punctures/Myelograms
- Venous Access Procedures
- PICC line placement
- Venograms
- Fistulagrams
- Evaluate medical images, review preliminary notes and images with a supervising physician, and prepare technical reports that will be reviewed and signed off by the supervising physician.
- Participate in patient management, including prescriptive powers for acquisition of additional imaging procedures and record documentation in medical records co-signed immediately by the supervising radiologist.
- Administer and/or order intravenous medications and contrast media, under the supervision of a physician.
- Assist in the pre and post procedural evaluation of the patients.
- Participate in bimonthly Tumor Board cases.
- Maintain current levels of education in emerging techniques, procedures and therapies by obtaining a minimum of 50 hours of continuing education biannually as required by CBRPA or ARRT and maintain Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification.
- Maintain values congruent with the Code of Ethics, as well as adhering to national, institutional and/or departmental standards, policies, and procedures regarding the standards of care for patients.
