As a Sales Engineer, you are responsible for supporting the organization in the pursuit of new business. Support will include: design review and costing of customer requirements for manufacturing, assisting the sales team with concepts, diagrams and compiling reports, assisting in customer presentations, discovery and definition of customer requirements, determining feasibility from an application and engineering standpoint, interfacing with site operations personnel to ensure a smooth hand off of all sales orders. What You'll Do (Essential Job Functions):
  • Assist in the cost estimation and design of solutions for customers which may include but not be limited to any or all of the following components:
    • Creation of cost estimates/basis of estimate documents using the ERP workbench and other Excel tools.
    • Creation of technical approach (design or manufacturing) for customer presentations and proposals
    • Assist with sales engagements to communicate manufacturability (cnc machining, vacuum brazing, dip brazing, additive manufacturing, etc)
  • Assist sales and marketing with tradeshow attendance, as needed
  • Ensure accuracy of configuration and costing of complex sales proposals.
    • Support cost and pricing certification efforts with detailed BOM and Method of Manufacture generation
  • Ensure complete discovery and definition of customer application requirements.
  • Assist in development and possible delivery of customer presentations.
  • Interface with local operations personnel to ensure appropriate hand off of the as-quoted design/manufacturing methodology of customer solutions to guarantee successful new product introduction.
  • Coordinate additional support as necessary for sales opportunities.
  • Training/Mentoring: Promote the professional growth of the team.
  • Industry Awareness: Continually seek industry and market information necessary for successful business development.

What You'll Bring (Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
  • Must have the manufacturing knowledge. Particularly CNC Machining and various manufacturing processes (vacuum brazing, dip brazing, additive manufacturing, assembly, etc)
  • Must be able to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be capable of reading drawings and evaluating the work to be performed. Including but not limited to:
    • GD&T Experience
    • Solidworks CAD modeling experience
    • Experience working with various manufacturing processes needed to manufacture the product in the drawing.
    • Experience reading and understanding specifications.
  • High-level communication skills: Listening, verbal, non-verbal, and diplomatic persuasion skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel locally and nationally occasionally.
  • Must have strong customer interface skills.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be self-motivated and flexible.


Your Experience (Minimum Qualifications):
  • Must have 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment, CNC machining, vacuum brazing, dip brazing, or related field.
  • Must have experience with GD
  • Must provide proof of US Citizenship or Permanent Residency to comply with ITAR requirements.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen per Vitesse Systems' drug testing policy.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check per Vitesse Systems' policy.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

The manufacturing facility may expose workers to loud noises, chemicals, and other occupational hazards; personal protective equipment may be provided by The Company and at request.

Job Information:
This is a full-time, permanent position. This position is eligible for the employer-sponsored benefits listed under "Vitesse Systems is Proud to Offer." This position is considered exempt (paid on a salaried basis and ineligible for overtime pay).

Pay range: $105,000-$150,000 based on qualifications and experience.
