Job Summary
Identifies, plans, implements, coordinates, and leads various energy efficiencies, decarbonization and other energy related initiatives throughout County owned facilities and properties. Working closely with the Office of Sustainability, develops and leads awareness programs and monitors energy consumption of county facilities and operations. Performs energy and economic analysis and recommends energy savings strategies to achieve more energy-efficient operations. Helps build energy policy into standard practices including Capital Improvement Plan (CIP), Maintenance Management Plan (MMP), and other related county programs. Acts as the point of contact for Oakland County for key energy initiatives and energy related efforts. Spearheads programs for rebates and grants for Oakland County and other local agencies. Coordinates with multiple County departments to conduct site surveys and facility assessments. Utilizes current Countywide and/or department specific software to complete assignments.
Minimum Qualifications

1. a. Possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Renewable Energy, Sustainability, Energy Systems, Architecture, Building Science, or related field of study; AND
b. Have at least three (3) years of full-time work experience in Energy Management, Utility Management, Utility Operations, Renewable Energy, Energy Policy, Building and Construction Design, Sustainability, Energy Systems, Architecture, Building Science, or other related fields; OR
2. a. Possess an Associate's degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university with a major in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Renewable Energy, Sustainability, Energy Systems, Architecture, Building Science, or related field of study; AND
b. Have at least five (5) years of full-time work experience in Energy Management, Utility Management, Utility Operations, Renewable Energy, Energy Policy, Building and Construction Design, Sustainability, Energy Systems, Architecture, Building Science, or other energy related fields.
3. Possess a valid United States motor vehicle operator's or chauffeur's license.
4. Must possess or ability to obtain within six (6) months of employment, OSHA 30 certification.
