Description:
The Assistant Vice President Supply Chain Perioperative Inventory Management and Technology Applications will be responsible to be viewed as the consummate industry expert in Supply Chain perioperative and procedural based location inventory management and technology applications, continually versed in understanding and applying industry best practices, including the use of modern technologies and applications, artificial intelligence, real time data capabilities, technologies and the optimization of the procure-to-pay continuum.
Leads and governs perioperative, specialty lab and technology-based efficiency, cost-effectiveness, including a formally documented inventory valuation and expense reduction operational improvement initiatives (Supply Chain OI) for each respective fiscal year.
Leads and governs the development for supply chain site operations across all Jefferson entities, including all technologies implemented and utilized within perioperative, specialty lab, general nursing floor, general supply room and tissue management, tracking and storage related locations and applications.
Leadership responsibility to ensure optimal level of revenue integrity, inventory controls and adoption of technologies, including any point-of-use inventory management and bill only automation applications. enterprise-wide supply chain perioperative and specialty lab site operations technology applications, including data interface and inoperative strategies with the electronic medical record and hemodynamic technology platforms.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or master's degree in operations, distribution or logistics management, or equivalent work experience.
AND
Experience:
A minimum of ten years' experience leading a complex and multi-faceted supply chain distribution, logistics and technology-based network over a varied geographical environment, with a specialty focus on perioperative, specialty lab, technology applications related to UDI data, barcode scanning capabilities, RFID and RPA applications and interfaces.
Experience with recent AI and Google-developed analytical artificial intelligence platforms that have the ability to automate the procure-to-pay cycle within the complexities of the Supply Chain perioperative and specialty lab environments.
Experience and deep understanding of FDA and Joint Commission processes and regulations related to inventory management, distribution, tissue and recall management supply chain processes within the perioperative and specialty lab environments.
Conditions of Employment
Since this position will require the selected candidate to engage in regular contact with children in the form of care, guidance, supervision or training, you will be required to meet the requirements of the Child Protective Services Act, including the Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check, the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare child abuse criminal background clearance, and an FBI finger print based federal criminal records check. Essential Functions
- Develops a standardized, enterprise supply chain operations strategies and technology vision for all perioperative, specialty lab and technology application areas, resulting in a high reliability and best-in-class operation.
- Creates and manages a comprehensive five-year strategic Supply Chain perioperative, specialty lab and technology business plan, including a demand signal environment for all general nursing care locations, all supply room labeling technologies to ensure supply chain operations supports Jefferson's overall mission, vision and key objectives. Responsible to analyze, coordinate and develop an effective data interface strategy between all Supply Chain operations based technologies and Jefferson's electronic medical record, hemodynamics and revenue generating based systems responsible for supply capture, recall management and patient billing.
- Develop, cultivate and lead a high-reliability Supply Chain perioperative and specialty lab support organization that includes personnel development and a key succession plan for all key critical leadership roles.
- Leadership responsibility for the development and implementation of an enterprise-wide Supply Chain perioperative and specialty lab operations workforce management program, including span of control and overall productivity standards, assessments and appropriate adjustments. Provide leadership responsibility for ongoing time and motion studies (MODAPTS) across all Supply Chain perioperative and specialty lab site operations. Leadership responsibility for labor productivity and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Leadership responsibility to define and develop supply chain policies, methods, standards, certifications and supporting tools related to perioperative and specialty lab environments, in support of operational excellence and consistent standardized operating procedures across all Jefferson operating units.
- Leadership responsibility and vision related to establish and leverage enterprise supply chain management perioperative and supply chain analytics in support of advancing defined operational improvements, including overall revenue integrity in all clinical areas.
- Provides executive leadership and achievement responsibility related to identifying, developing and achieving all supply chain perioperative and specialty lab-based operations cost savings and efficiency achievement initiatives and targets.
- Leadership responsibility to develop, implement and oversee effective internal controls that promote adherence to applicable state/federal laws, and program requirements of accreditation agencies and federal, state, and private health plans, particularly in relation to supporting implant and patient case supplies used documentation, as well as the management of all perioperative and specialty lab supply related recall management and expired supply processes.
- Leadership responsibility related to possessing detailed industry knowledge and capabilities in relation to inventory management best practices, including the use of relevant technologies, UDI data, barcode scanning capabilities, RFID and RPA applications. Skilled capabilities in Lean / Six Sigma / 5S / Continuous Improvement / Visual methodologies and practical applications. Working knowledge of HL7 & API integration capabilities. Foundational understanding of the various clinical documentation systems used across OR, Heart & Vascular, Imaging, and Radiology departments.
- Leadership responsibility to develop, implement, lead and oversee the overall improvement in material flow, inventory management, receiving and distribution to gain operational efficiencies.
- Acts as a supply chain business advisor to senior leadership and affiliate leaders to achieve organizational targets, demonstrating outstanding presentation and communication skills. Must be a demonstrated and effective public speaker that can present to all levels of executive, operational, and clinical leadership. Strong understanding of clinical operations & workflow during pre, intra, and post operative/procedural phases. Knowledge with HL7 & API integration capabilities.
