Harborview Medical Center's Planned Surgery team has an outstanding opportunity for an Assistant Nurse Manager - Education Lead (RN3/ANM).
WORK SCHEDULE
90% FTE (72 hours per two week schedule)
Day Shift
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
6MB (6 Maleng Bldg) - Planned Surgery: 30-bed unit includes med/surg/ortho/neuro/trauma- Common surgeries include complex foot and ankle surgeries including total ankle, complex spine surgery, neurosurgery. Caring for patients from all of the surgical specialties (except burns). Exposure to a broad range of patient cases.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead clinical practice, education, and management as delegated by and in collaboration with the Nurse Manager and the Assistant Director of Clinical Education.
Promote delivery of quality nursing care
Support staff with orientation, evaluation, clinical problem solving, communication, and collaboration
Support to the unit management team for the assurance of clinical workforce competence
Efficient and effective educational services and resources, which enable staff to meet patient care needs.
Timely clinical problem solving and communication of clinical issues at all levels (peer, staff, management, physician)
Interdisciplinary and interdepartmental collaboration and service coordination.
Educational resource for patient care.
Integration of new technology and organizational initiatives
REQUIREMENTS:
Licensed to practice registered nursing in the state of WA
Bachelor's degree in nursing
Two - three years of professional nursing experience, including demonstrated skill and preference for adult education (preceptor, unit based skills, etc.)
