Description:
Responsible for the complete concept, design, development, analysis and documentation of mechanical devices and/or systems with mechanical parts for new and existing products. Design, develop, modify and evaluate the mechanical/electromechanical components of new products/systems. Conducts product testing and creates models and prototypes. Investigates problems with machinery and implements solutions. Designs and analyzes mechanical systems, equipment and packages. Conducts feasibility studies, Gage R&R, time studies, and tests new and modified designs. Directs support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication. Provides information to drafting for packaging documentation.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from an ABET accredited university preferred
2+ years of related experience
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing (5S, SW, PSP, SMED, VRK, OEE, TPM, etc.) a plus
Proven problem solving aptitude using various tools and techniques
Leadership experience within a team, project, or job
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing work and delivering results
Comfortable working problems of moderate scope where data analysis requires evaluation of identifiable factors
SolidWorks and/or Pro Engineer (ProE) experience a plus
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings required
Experience working in a metric/goal-driven environment
Hands-on approach/experience with manufacturing processes preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; effectively able to present information and respond to feedback at any level within the global organization

Responsibilities

- Able to integrate work with other projects and/or existing products
- Advocates for and performs approved methods and practices
- May work with other technical/manufacturing resources to achieve objectives
- Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors
- Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
